Jozette Carter-Williams, of Puerto Rican and Taino descent, was raised on Staten Island’s North Shore for 51 years. She attended local schools, later studying computer science and accounting at The College of Staten Island and photography at the Academy of Art University. With a 30-year career in banking, she retired in 2024. A wife and mother of three, she founded a nonprofit honoring her late ex-husband, police officer Gerard Carter. Passionate about community service, she has served on multiple boards. Committed to safer streets, better transportation, and economic growth, she believes in collective action to strengthen the North Shore.
