U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi has built a substantial financial advantage over Republican challenger Mike LiPetri as the two prepare for a rematch in New York’s 3rd Congressional District, according to recent Federal Election Commission filings.
Suozzi, a Democrat seeking reelection, reported $5.46 million in total receipts and $5.68 million in cash on hand through June 30. LiPetri, a Republican and former state Assembly member, reported $1.67 million in total receipts and $724,376 in cash on hand through July 9.
