Who would have thought 50 years ago, at the brink of the 1969 Stonewall Riots that ushered in the gay liberation movement, that today the New York City Council would have an openly gay and HIV positive City Council Speaker in Corey Johnson?
Yet, here we are in 2018, and KCP Senior Reporter Kelly Mena was on hand to celebrate with Johnson and the LGBTQ+ community this week at City Hall for an inspiring Pride event.
