CM Wong, Krishnan demand immediate action on Elmhurst nightclub following series of violent incidents

Council Members Phil Wong and Shekar Krishnan have sent a joint letter to the New York State Liquor Authority (NYSLA) and the New York City Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, April 30, calling for immediate enforcement against Amadeus Nightclub in Elmhurst following multiple acts of violence, including a recent shooting that reportedly left four individuals injured.

The letter, addressed to NYSLA Chair Lily M. Fan and Sheriff Anthony Miranda, further details a sustained pattern of disorderly violence at the venue, located at 79-51 Albion Ave. The pattern includes “multiple shootings, a prior homicide, robbery, and dozens of emergency calls and complaints over the past several years,” as confirmed in a press release. It also asserts reports from residents and businesses of “drug activity, gang-related disputes, and turf conflicts occurring in and around the premises” — all of which have occurred more than once.
