Candidate: New York State Assembly / District 037

Claire Valdez (D)

Candidate Site

Claire is a UAW union organizer and the daughter of Mexican-American parents who worked long hours to support their family. For years, she juggled multiple jobs to get by. Her life changed when she joined her union: she got a say in her workplace, and when elected to union leadership, she proudly fought for better pay and benefits for workers across industries.

Claire doesn’t take a dime from corporations or real estate and will fight for what her neighbors need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives: permanently affordable housing, reliable public transit, universal childcare, and a future free from climate chaos.
