Over the course of the week, Assembly Member Jenifer Rajkumar received endorsements from TWU Local 100 and DC 37, both representing a coalition of labor support for her re-election campaign in Assembly District 38 — an area that covers Ridgewood, Woodhaven, Richmond Hill, Ozone Park and Glendale.
Rajkumar, the first South Asian-American woman elected to the State Assembly, also secured labor endorsements from 1199SEIU, 32BJ SEIU, the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council (HTC), the American Federation of Labor (AFL-CIO), IBEW Local 3, PEF, NYC District Council of Carpenters, and CSEA. Both unions cited her work as a workers’ rights attorney and as a legislator who has advanced protections for essential workers, according to a press release from her office.
