Candidate SiteShaun Abreu, a lifelong Northern Manhattan resident, overcame childhood eviction to become a tenant rights attorney and now serves as the first Latino New York City council member for Manhattan’s 7th District. As chair of the Sanitation Committee, he has led the charge to clear trash bags from city sidewalks, dramatically cut rat sightings, and save community composting. A steadfast advocate for worker rights, affordable housing, environmental sustainability, and public safety, he continues to fight for the community that shaped him. He lives in Washington Heights with his family.
