Gov. Kathy Hochul is projected to win a second full term, defeating Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman and making New York history alongside her running mate, former City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams.
The Democratic governor’s victory makes Hochul and Adams the first all-woman gubernatorial ticket elected in New York state history, while Adams will become the state’s first Black woman to serve as lieutenant governor.
