Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Tuesday he has “no plans” to fire NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, reaffirming his support for the city’s top cop amid mounting pressure from his democratic socialist allies to remove her over the department’s handling of protests following last week’s ICE shooting in Marble Hill.
“Jessica Tisch is the police commissioner. I have no plans to change that,” Mamdani told reporters Tuesday morning, shortly before joining Tisch at a ceremony in Battery Park City honoring 42 fallen NYPD members.
