The Brooklyn Democratic Party’s new rules must be tossed out, an appellate court ruled Tuesday, as it upheld a lower court decision that blocked the rules from taking effect.
Facing almost certain defeat after party reformers won enough district leader seats to vote her out, incumbent party leader Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn on Aug. 25 passed a series of bylaw amendments that expanded the party’s executive committee, nullifying the new majority and likely ensuring her victory.
