U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi, survivors of human trafficking call for legislation

Officials and survivors are sounding the alarm on human trafficking, saying that it can happen to anybody and that more needs to be done to prevent it and help those affected by it.

“It’s happening right here in our backyard. This is very real, and it’s happening right here on Long Island every single day,” U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi said at a press conference in Williston Park on Thursday, Aug. 20.
