Council Member Joann Ariola has welcomed the City Council’s vote to approve legislation creating a new Office of Insurance Accountability, which she said would help set standards in the industry and prevent companies from having “free rein to charge whatever they want.”
The Council voted 42-0 to approve Intro 685 last week, which will create “first-in-the-nation” Office of Insurance Accountability providing individuals and businesses with access to information that would help them make informed decisions about their insurance coverage.
