Tom Suozzi co-sponsors legislation to limit protests outside places of worship

U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., joined a bipartisan group of senators and representatives in introducing legislation on Thursday, Aug. 6, that would create a 100-foot buffer zone around places of worship during religious services.

The act, which is supported by Senators Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), and U.S. Rep. Brad Knott (R-N.C.), would result in civil fines or a lawsuit for conduct that knowingly disrupts or impedes worshippers’ attendance.
