Great Neck Village trustees approve development changes, consider backyard chickens at lively public meeting

More than 20 residents, developers, attorneys and property representatives packed village hall Tuesday as the Village of Great Neck Board of Trustees worked through a lengthy agenda that ranged from major development approvals and fire hydrants to an unexpected debate over whether backyard chickens should be allowed in the village.

Mayor Pedram Bral opened the meeting by recognizing the nation’s 250th anniversary before trustees approved a series of annual organizational resolutions, appointments and other routine business.
