Deputy Leader Ung introduces legislation to address loud car meetups amid quality-of-life concerns

Deputy Leader Sandra Ung introduced legislation on Thursday, April 16, to address the growing problem of late-night car meetups. These meetups are often described as having “vehicles outfitted with oversized speakers blasting music at disruptive volumes in neighborhoods across New York City,” according to a press release from Ung’s office.

The disorderly gatherings, which are said to have become increasingly common in and around Ung’s district in popular locations like Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the World’s Fair Marina, have created a pressing quality-of-life issue for residents, particularly during the warmer seasons.
