The Juniper Park Civic Association (JPCA) held its monthly meeting at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Academy in Middle Village on Thursday, April 16, where President Tony Nunziato and Secretary Christina Wilkinson discussed important community issues, ranging from public safety updates from the NYPD 104th Precinct to concerns regarding the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). A medication disposal lecture from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) was also featured, alongside an appearance by State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr.
At the start of the meeting, Nunziato introduced the new Commanding Officer Joshua Rios, who briefly described his personal background (e.g., family, graduate school). Rios also mentioned a similarity with North Queens regarding quality of life issues.
