CM Wong announces passage of two Earth Day bills to improve parks and protect urban wildlife

On Thursday, April 16, Council Member Phil Wong announced the passage of two pieces of legislation as part of the New York City Council’s Earth Day package, advancing efforts to improve public spaces and strengthen the city’s approach to environmental sustainability and wildlife management.

Two of the approved measures — Intro 805 and Intro 806 — were also part of Wong’s first legislative package that addressed environment and quality of life concerns, as reported by QNS last month. After the Committee on Parks and Recreation voted on the aforementioned bills, along with Intro 577 and Intro 740, on Wednesday, April 15, both were enacted.
