Advocates to rally at City Hall Thursday as historic wildlife protection bill poised to pass ahead of Earth Week

A coalition of wildlife advocates, including NYCLASS and the Lights Out Coalition, will rally with elected officials outside City Hall on Thursday, April 16, at 12:45 p.m. to support the expected passage of Intro 806 — a citywide wildlife protection legislation introduced by Council Member Phil Wong.

The passage would also coincide with the start of Earth Week, a week-long environmental initiative that focuses on sustainability and conservation. The initiative also celebrates Earth Day, an international event observed every year on April 22. A live art performance by a costumed Mother Pigeon, an NYC-based street performance artist, will also be featured ahead of the passage to showcase the importance of coexistence with urban wildlife.
