Caribbean-American Democratic Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke on Tuesday reiterated that “no one is above the law”, as former United States President Donald J. Trump was indicted for the third time.
Trump was indicted on Tuesday for his widespread and brazen efforts in trying to cling on to power after he was defeated in the 2020 US Presidential Election by Joe Biden.
Special Counsel Jack Smith filed the indictment in Federal District Court in Washington, D.C., accusing the former president of three conspiracies – defrauding the United States; obstructing an official government proceeding, that is the certification of the Electoral College vote; and depriving nationals of their civil right, the right to have their votes counted.
