Odds&Ends

Heard Around Town

Sources say that 46th Republican Assembly District Leader Marcus Nussbaum switched his registration and became a Democrat, and that newly-elected Assemblywoman Pam Harris will hire him as her district director.

Nussbaum is very close with Russian-American political operative and radio station owner Gregory Davidzon, who Harris‘s campaign paid over $20,000  to this year for on air interviews and support, according to one source. This payment was not confrimed by KCP at post time.
The same source says City Councilman Mark Treyger and Assemblyman Bill Colton plans to run Nussbaum for District Leader in the 46th against incumbent Mark Davidovich next year.
KCP has also heard that Canarsie Civil Activist Mercedes Narcisse plans to run for the open 59th District Assembly seat against the Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club and County Chair Frank Seddio‘s preferred candidate, Jamie Williams in the April special election.

Odd Moment Of the Week

During the swearing in ceremony for newly-elected Civil Court Judge Lorna McAllister at St. Francis College this week, Mistress of Ceremonies Ingrid Martin told all the Democratic District Leaders in the audience to stand up, and among those who stood was former 57th Assembly Democratic District Leader Renee Collymore, who lost to Olainke Alabi in the last election.

The hard-working and respected Alabi came to the event, but had to leave early for another engagement.

Have a good weekend all!
