Deutsch Brings Caregiver Forum To Trump Village

City Council Member Chaim Deutsch is encouraging all community caregivers in his district to attend a Caregiver Forum he is hosting tonight at the Trump Village Community Room.

Caregivers who can benefit from the information provided at the event include a child, relative, spouse, or neighbor who is caring for an elderly person, assisting with tasks such as running errands, paying bills, or preparing meals. There are also services available for a grandparent or older family member caring for a young relative or grandchild.

City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito will address attendees, along with representatives from the Department for the Aging Caregiver & Grandparent Resource Center, and the New York Academy of Medicine.

“This forum is an important opportunity for caregivers to learn about resources for benefits such as counseling, home visits, legal assistance, and other programs,” said Deutsch. “I encourage anyone who may benefit from these services to join me.”

The forum is slated for 6:30 p.m. at the Trump Village Community Room, 2942 West 5th Street.

Greenfield Offers Help To Troubled Homeowners

City Councilman David Greenfield has partnered with Brooklyn Housing and Family Services to provide one-on-one mortgage counseling to residents of Boro Park, Midwood and Bensonhurst.

An attorney will be available to meet with homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes or have encountered changes in their financial circumstances at Councilman Greenfield’s district office on the last Tuesday of each month.

“Owning a home is as rewarding as it is stressful. Many people fall behind on their mortgage payments which could result in unnecessary foreclosures and losses of their homes,” said Greenfield. “I am thrilled to already have helped connect dozens of residents with free legal help, and will continue to work with great organizations like Brooklyn Housing and Family Services to continue this effort. Anyone who needs mortgage advice should contact my office immediately.”

Anyone who needs legal assistance with any mortgage-related issues should schedule an appointment by calling Councilman Greenfield‘s office at (718) 853-2704.
