George Alvarez was born in the Dominican Republic and is of Afro-Caribbean descent. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science, a master’s in logistics from Madrid, and a Harvard certification in cybersecurity.
Raised in a single-parent household, he developed a strong commitment to education and community service. From a young age, he advocated for his community and continued this work in the Bronx through grassroots efforts addressing inequality.
Driven by his experiences, Alvarez is dedicated to public service, fighting for immigrant families, affordable housing, good jobs, and social justice, and expanding opportunities for underserved communities.
