Rev. Dr. Al Taylor has represented New York’s 71st Assembly District- Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood since 2017. Former chief of staff to Herman D. Farrell, Jr., he brings 20+ years of advocacy on public safety, housing, civil rights, and criminal justice reform.
He founded Man Up! in Harlem in 2008, an anti-violence initiative prayer walk that helped reduce gun violence, replicated across the State. He walked 780 mi. to Chicago promoting peace.
In the Assembly, Taylor has passed legislation on childcare safety, police accountability, emergency response, and early voting access. He is pastor of Infinity Mennonite Church, husband, father.
