New York State Assembly / District 028

Andrew Hevesi (D)

(Incumbent)

Candidate Site

Andy Hevesi has represented Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Rego Park, Middle Village, and Ridgewood since 2005, resolving thousands of constituent cases and building deep community ties to complement his government work. As Children and Families Committee chair, he authored the law ending the arrest of children under 12, reformed New York’s child protective reporting system, and led the effort to expand the Child Tax Credit, making 580,000 working tax filers newly eligible for the benefit. Most recently, he led the Assembly’s fight against Trump’s HR1 cuts, protecting food security, immigrant families, public programs and workers across New York.
