CM Wong calls on DOT to clamp down on Amazon’s alleged use of public parking spaces as mobile distribution hubs

Council Member Phil Wong has called on DOT Commissioner Mike Flynn to clamp down on Amazon’s alleged use of large trucks as mobile distribution hubs, which Wong claimed are taking up neighborhood parking space, slowing traffic and blocking fire hydrants in his district.

Wong penned the letter to Flynn on Monday, outlining his concerns over Amazon’s alleged use of delivery vans to create makeshift distribution hubs on the streets of Council District 30, with couriers delivering packages on foot and using the truck as an anchor.
