Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Thursday night that his efforts to secure the release of a man shot by ICE agents in Marble Hill had failed despite talks with President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at least one ICE agent fired seven rounds during the confrontation, striking the 28-year-old man in the neck just below his left ear. A 5-year-old boy, believed to be the man’s son, was inside the vehicle at the time but was unharmed and is now in the care of a family member, she said.
