ICE agents did not know a 5-year-old boy was inside the vehicle when at least one agent opened fire on the driver in Marble Hill Thursday afternoon, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin admitted Friday, as federal officials defended the shooting and revealed that the wounded man had been moved to an undisclosed detention facility outside New York.
Mullin also confirmed that federal agents wore body cameras and that the cameras were on during Thursday’s operation. However, DHS has not released the footage, even as New York elected officials have called for it to be made public.
