Residents raised concerns about traffic safety and parking enforcement as village trustees considered changes to the noise and lighting codes and reviewed more than $200,000 in accumulated change orders for the new village hall.
The Great Neck Village Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, Oct. 6 with Mayor Pedram Bral absent. Deputy Mayor Barton Sobel presided over the meeting. Former Deputy Mayor Mitchell Beckerman, of Forest Road, told trustees that the recent closing of North Road to through traffic has pushed more vehicles onto narrower residential streets. He said drivers have been traveling 40 to 50 mph and ignoring stop signs.
