Great Neck Plaza approves taxi fare hike, adjourns rental apartment review

The Great Neck Plaza Board of Trustees approved a series of measures on Wednesday, Aug. 19, including a proposed increase in taxi fares and a conditional use permit for a new pharmacy, while postponing action on a commercial landscaper permit requirement.

Trustees voted 3-0 to adopt a local law increasing the rates that taxis licensed by the village may charge. The increases, which will take effect annually through 2028, were developed after discussions with representatives of the Great Neck Taxi Drivers Association and are intended to account for inflation and rising operating costs.
