Geraldo Rivera Column: The Big Ballroom

Earlier this week, dismayed by the level of animosity and hostility in American public discourse, I tweeted the following about the White House ballroom under contentious construction. “Let POTUS complete his golden ballroom. He knows how to build. If it’s too shiny, let the next guy fix it. Everything should not be a fight to the finish.”

Before I get into the great ballroom debate, let me make this observation more generally. As a nation, why do we have to argue so aggressively and bitterly about everything?
