Hundreds of union members, elected officials and Amazon workers gathered outside City Hall Thursday afternoon to demand the passage of Council Member Tiffany Cabán’s Delivery Protection Act, which aims to reshape New York City’s last-mile delivery industry.
The bill takes aim at Amazon and other delivery companies for their use of third-party “Delivery Service Partners,” a model that sees the company work with more than 3,000 third-party entities to deliver packages around the world without recognizing drivers as Amazon employees.
