Back in April, I wrote that the paperwork you hate is what AI is actually good for. I stand by that. Hand the machine your busywork and take back your afternoon.

What I didn’t say enough about is what to keep out of the pile.

It’s Tuesday night, and your blood work shows up in the patient portal at nine o’clock. Since 2021, a federal rule has required labs and hospitals to release results as soon as they are ready, sometimes before your own doctor has reviewed them.
