Southold Remains Under Water Alert Lifted for the Hamptons

The Suffolk County Water Authority has lifted a water alert for residents in the towns of Southampton, East Hampton, and Shelter Island, but the Town of Southold is still being urged to conserve water.

That means customers on the North Fork should continue watering their lawns on odd- or even-numbered dates according to their address and not at all between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to maintain water pressure in the system and reserves in case firefighters need it, the agency said.
