Brooklyn DA’s Hate Crimes Bureau recieves $750K funding boost after antisemitism task force hearing

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office will receive a $750,000 funding boost for its Hate Crimes Bureau after borough officials raised concerns earlier this year that the unit lacked the resources needed to investigate and prosecute bias-motivated crimes.

City Council Speaker Julie Menin announced the funding on July 27, saying the investment will help strengthen Brooklyn’s response to hate crimes as antisemitism incidents and other acts of bias continue to impact communities across the city.
