Meng praises Mamdani’s expansion of city’s Bureau of Coastal Resilience

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng has praised Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s expansion of the city’s Bureau of Coastal Resilience, which aims to protect the city from future flood surges and coastal flooding events.

Meng said the expansion, which will see the city hire almost 70 new recruits such as engineers, city planners and field inspectors, is the kind of “bold, serious investment” that the city needs to respond to climate change.
