The Village of Lake Success is reassessing its proposed adult-use (recreational) cannabis zoning law as a closely watched lawsuit could determine whether the only Nassau County municipality that opted into recreational cannabis sales can control where dispensaries locate.
“The hearing was cancelled because the Village is reassessing the scope of its proposed cannabis legislation,” village attorney Andrea Curto said. She said the outcome of litigation brought by the towns of Southampton, Riverhead and Brookhaven “will determine the extent of the Village’s zoning authority as it relates to retail cannabis dispensaries.”
