Protestors rally outside Speaker Menin’s home to end 24-hour home care shifts

More than 50 home care workers and supporters rallied outside City Council Speaker Julie Menin’s home on Friday morning, saying it’s time for the City Council to pass legislation ending 24-hour workdays for their profession in New York City. 

Members of the Ain’t I a Woman?! Campaign coalition of a half dozen groups gathered behind a barrier to call for the passage of the long languishing No More 24 Act (Intro 303), introduced in 2022 by Councilmember (District 1 – Lower Manhattan) Christopher Marte.
