Mamdani’s declaration that he has no authority to arrest Netanyahu rankles both Jewish and pro-Palestine New Yorkers

Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Tuesday evening announcement that he does not have the authority to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruffled feathers on both sides of the international conflict which has boiled over into NYC politics.

Both pro-Israel Jewish organizations and pro-Palestine Muslim organizations found common ground in accusing Mamdani of using the conversation about potentially executing the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Netanyahu as political theater.
