Many NYC business groups cheered Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s plan to cut red tape for small businesses, while cautioning that the more than 50 reforms amount to a first step in a city where owners still face thousands of rules and rising operating costs.
The OPEN for Small Business package would change how entrepreneurs deal with City Hall while rewriting individual rules for restaurants, bodegas, drivers, barbershops and child care providers.
