Many NYC business groups welcomed Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s plan to cut red tape for small businesses, though some cautioned that the more than 50 reforms amount to only a first step – and the city’s leading restaurant group called the package “extremely underwhelming.”
The OPEN for Small Business package would change how entrepreneurs deal with City Hall while rewriting individual rules for restaurants, bodegas, drivers, barbershops and child care providers.
