Hochul announces ‘regulatory reset’ aimed at reviewing state regulations, cutting through consumer red tape

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday that she signed an executive order mandating a review of state regulations and fines to ensure that the state government isn’t wasting taxpayers’ “time and money.”

The review has been deemed a “regulatory reset” by Hochul’s office, which used Stanford University’s artificial intelligence tool, RegLab to identify thousands of regulations now up for review.
