About 50 Russell Gardens residents filled the entire Village Hall on Monday evening, June 15, for a candidate forum ahead of Tuesday’s village election, where the three contenders for two trustee seats outlined their priorities and answered questions ranging from permitting fees and village finances to traffic safety and community communication.
The forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Great Neck, was moderated by league members who emphasized neutrality throughout the event. Candidates were each given 90 seconds for opening and closing statements and 90 seconds to answer 10 vetted audience questions. Rebuttals were not permitted under the agreed-upon rules.
