Voters will hit the polls this month in more than a half dozen village elections across the South Fork, but only the Village of Southampton has a race in which challengers are trying to unseat the incumbents — the rest are all unopposed.
The Village of Southampton election will decide the fate of the two trustee seats and whether voters want their elected officials to have four-year terms instead of two-year terms. If the term referendum is approved, the new terms would be implemented in 2028. The four candidates are Gina Arresta, Willa Bernstein, Trustee Edward Simioni and Deputy Mayor Leonard Zinnanti.
