Richard Kessel named chairman of Nassau University Medical Center Board

Gov. Kathy Hochul has appointed longtime public official Richard Kessel as chairman of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, the governing body of Nassau University Medical Center and the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale, effective immediately. His term runs through 2029.

Kessel succeeds Stuart Rabinowitz, the former longtime president of Hofstra University, who served as board chairman for roughly 10 months before stepping down in March.
