Officials with President Donald Trump’s administration and private developers on Monday publicly released renderings for their chosen Penn Station overhaul plan, but it remains unclear exactly how much it will cost and who will foot the bill.
Andy Byford, Amtrak’s special adviser for the Penn redevelopment; Peter Cipriano, who is heading the Penn Preservation Partners group chosen as a “master developer,” and architect Vishaan Chakrabarti walked reporters through newly released renderings for the project. Byford did not provide an exact cost for the project, but said it could range between $7 and $8 billion, while also not giving a definitive answer on where those funds would come from.
