The Village of Westbury Memorial Day commemoration kicked off on Monday, May 25, at 10 a.m. The parade portion of the event was canceled due to poor weather, but an indoor ceremony was held at the Westbury Volunteer Fire House, continuing the village’s annual tradition of honoring members of the U.S. armed forces who died while serving in the military.
The village’s parade was scheduled to begin at the firehouse at 355 Maple Ave., then travel west on Maple Avenue, north on Post Avenue and end at the Village Community Center at 360 Maple Ave.
