Bill O’Reilly Column: Jimmy and me

On November 15, 2005, I received a “Resolution” from the city of San Francisco demanding my employer, Fox News, fire me forthwith.

The letter was signed by then Mayor Gavin Newsom.

The controversy surrounded Propositions H and I that banned handguns in the city limits and discouraged military recruitment in San Francisco schools.

I knew the gun thing was unconstitutional. However, the recruitment deal in the middle of the war on terror was an outrage.  So, I vented on my program.

“If al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we’re not going to do anything about it. We’re going to say every other place in America is off limits except San Francisco. You want to blow up Coit Tower, go ahead.”

Now, even the dimmest mind could figure out that I was not encouraging death and destruction but, rather, making a rhetorical point.  Anyone who supported those loopy propositions is a moron.  Maybe we call my commentary “satire.”  Or an immature attempt at humor.

Doesn’t matter.  I had to go.  The city writing: “the Board of Supervisors hereby urges Fox News and Westwood One (radio distributor) to terminate the employment of news show host Bill O’Reilly …”

Hey, Jimmy Kimmel, this proposition is for you.  We are peas in the same pod. Abbott and Costello.  Simon and Garfunkel.

Strange that no Kimmel supporters said a thing back when the City by the Bay wanted to throw me into the bay without a wetsuit.

Did George Clooney speak up defending the First Amendment as he recently did with Jim?  By George, he did not.  Did Stephen King take a stand?  No, sir.

How about that Jake Tapper guy?  No support at all.  Same thing with Elwood, Jake’s partner in the “Snooze Brothers.”

My point, and I do have one, is that the hypocrisy police would be very busy with Jimmy’s supporters; not that double standards matter much in the media. The ardent left wingers continue to oppose any sanctions against Jim and his anti-Trump jihad, which now include his wife and son.

The truth is that Mr. Kimmel has morphed into a hater.  The Disney Company is funding that hate.  Not a good look for anyone in that corporation, especially since the Mouse House fired Star Wars actress Gina Carano for politically incorrect texts.

No, the Jimmy Kimmel hate party is not a good look at all.

Or am I Goofy?
