Queens Community Board 1 (CB1) voted overwhelmingly in favor of recommending the city’s plans to redesign a 2.5-mile stretch of 31st Street with parking protected bike lanes following a marathon public engagement session on Tuesday night.
Astoria World Manor was standing room only for CB1’s monthly meeting on April 21 as dozens of opponents and supporters of the proposal gave impassioned testimony about the project, which was officially resurrected by the DOT and the Mamdani Administration last week.
