State Sen. Jessica Ramos joined dozens of immigration advocates in Corona Tuesday morning to call on the state legislature to pass legislation that would expand family court authority to assign guardianship to children in cases where parents have been deported.
Ramos’s bill, S8854, seeks to allow the family court to include deportation as an “extraordinary circumstance” when considering an application for guardianship.
