NYC Mayor’s Race: Cuomo, Lander both say they’ve maxed out fundraising as Dem primary looms

Two leading candidates in the 2025 NYC mayor’s race — former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and city Comptroller Brad Lander — both say they have reached the city’s $8.3 million spending cap when including public matching funds with a little over four weeks until the Democratic primary.

Cuomo’s campaign has raked in nearly $3.9 million in private donations since launching on March 1, according to newly updated city Campaign Finance Board (CFB) records the most recent fundraising period between March 13 and May 19. He currently has roughly $3.5 million in his campaign account.
