3 Questions with 19-year-old Activist H.D. Wright

In honor of International Youth Day 2022, PoliticsNY Special Sections Editor Anna Donch sat down with H.D. Wright, a human rights activist and the Global Youth Representative at Education Cannot Wait, the United Nations fund for education in emergencies. At 15, Henry traveled around Germany with New York Times European Economics Correspondent Jack Ewing to interview Syrian refugees during the crisis. By 17, he was traveling to the Syrian-Jordanian border to deliver funds to a refugee camp there. Now, he represents over 100 youth-led NGOs from across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas on the High Level Steering Group of the fund, which is chaired by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
